Free Crochet Pattern: Birb Tissue Pouch


Chirp chirp!

Here are some birb tissue pouches that you can use for storing tissue packs with! Definitely a must to wipe your tears with or when your pet birb poos during play time. 🐥🐥🐥

 

Rules:

Only for personal use, not for commercial use or sales.

If I find out anyone who's selling this pouch with the exact pattern I made/ claiming as theirs, you will be hunted down. Mark my words (ಠ益ಠ╬)


Difficulty level: Beginner

🍑🍑

-For crocheters who already knew how to make a magic circle, single crochet, increases and decreases.

Tools



-Crochet hook of 2.5mm -8 ply yarn of desired birb colour -Stitch marker -Scissors -Needle for threading -Yarn of desired colour for embroidery (for eyes and mouth) -Some tea and snacks (to nomz on while you work on the tutorial)

 

Abbreviations

Magic circle: check out my tutorial at

sc: single crochet (x)

inc: increase (v)

dec: decrease (^)

dc: double crochet

slst: slip stitch

 

Base Pouch







Row 1: chain 23, sc 22 across (22)

Row 2-18: sc 22

Row 19: change to desired colour from this row onwards if making a two toned birb, sc 22

Row 20-36: sc 22

Row 37 (neck fur): slst 1, (sc 1, dc 2, dc 2, slst 1) x 5, slst 1

Eyes and beak






Beak:

Row 1: magic circle of 6 sc

Row 2: 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc (9)

*slst and finish off*

Embroider a “u-shape” across beak to add a smiley expression.


Eyes:

Using yarn in desired colour embroider 2 stitches away from mouth as pictured. Do the same for the other eye.


 

Wings (make 2)



Row 1: magic circle of 3 sc

Row 2: inc in every stitch (6)

Row 3: sc around (6)

Row 4: 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 inc (9)

Other parts



Chicken crown: Chain 7, (1 sc, 2 dc, 1 slip stitch) x 2


Kappa crown:

Row 1: Chain 5, 4 sc

Round 2: change to green, 1 inc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 inc

Repeat for the other side to make a round


Kappa belly:

Row 1: Chain 12, 11 sc

Row 2: sc along (11)

Row 3: 1 dec, sc in next 7 sts, 1 dec (9)

Row 4: 1 dec, sc in next 5 sts, 1 dec (7)

Row 5: 1 dec, sc in next 3 sts, 1 dec (5)


Cockatiel crest: chain 4, sc 3, 1 dc, 1 hdc, slst

 




And you're done with your very own tissue pouch!

You can also change up the base pouch colour and make other cute birbs with this pattern, the possibilities are endless! 💖
